The knitting room was where the stockings were made. They were knit on large machines that produced full-fashioned – hose that had the iconic back of the leg seam, that only went up to the top of the thigh and was meant to be worn with a garter belt - and seamless hosiery – hose that no longer had the back seam. Everything from ankle socks to panty-hose were made here!
