Even though one widely shared experience of working in a hosiery mill was the intense work and attention it demanded, most seem to fondly look back on and speak fondly of their time at the factories. For a variety of reasons, many women thoroughly enjoyed their jobs at both Holeproof Hosiery and London Hosiery Mills.

Van Buskirk describes what she liked most about working at Holeproof Hosiery.

Mitchell describes what his mother most enjoyed about working at London Hosiery Mills.
